FAMILY VOICES OF CALIFORNIA Speaks Up for Families of Children with Special Health Care Needs.

The California Children’s Services (CCS) program—a program established in 1927 to cover medical care for children with special health care needs in California—is undergoing a rapid planning process to transform it. Family Voices of California is increasingly concerned that the families utilizing this program are not being consulted in this process.

We recently provided written comments to the state to underline how important it is to consider the needs of families when transforming a program that provides essential services for children with special health care needs. A copy of our letter titled, Family Voices of California Written Comments on CCS Stakeholder Process" (pdf) has been provided here.
