This module explains why health research, particularly patient centered comparative effectiveness research, is important to improve healthcare for children experiencing health disparities. Families of color feel disconnected from and untrusting of medical research. Transforming Research as Usual (TRU) introduces the voices of families, patients and communities to research through Community Advisory Boards (CAB). CABs prioritize community needs to promote equitable research.
